Jennifer Aniston’s style seems simple enough for anyone to emulate, but there’s one subtle detail that few notice, making her consistently stand out. Behind that effortless simplicity lies a carefully crafted fashion strategy
When I work with someone new I always ask them if there is anyone’s style they admire. (This just gives me a bit of an idea as to what they like, in the same way I might ask you to tell me what music you listen to or how your home is decorated)
Often if someone is quite classic, non fussy, simple and casual with their style they might mention Jennifer Aniston.
Jennifer’s look often involves a t-shirt or singlet with a pair of jeans, sometimes a blazer and a pair of wedges. It looks very easy to achieve – and it can be – but there’s several reasons why Jennifer or any other celebrities with great style look good in their clothes. It’s because..
More than likely they’re wearing clothes of relatively good quality.
Everything they wear looks fresh and new. They wouldn’t wear anything that was pilled, stained, stretched, scuffed or faded.
They wear clothes that are flattering for their body shape.
They wear clothes that fit them perfectly.
This was highlighted recently when Jennifer Aniston was asked about her style, in particular her love of T-shirts and jeans.
“This is my secret: The trick to T-shirts is I that I usually tailor them. Which is silly, but it works.”
“Or you just have to find the perfect one”, she told the site.
So while Jennifer’s look may appear effortless, it isn’t exactly. It’s well thought out. She doesn’t just wear any old t-shirt, she wears one that is just right.
Having our t-shirts tailored is unrealistic for most of us, but striving to find a great one, is not.
As with all the pieces you wear, it’s the little(ish) things like ensuring you’re wearing the most flattering sleeve, the most flattering neckline, the most flattering length, the most flattering size and the most flattering fabric, that make the big difference to how stylish your overall look is – if that matters to you.
Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, 49, recalls when Jennifer Aniston called him about her ex-husband Brad Pitt and accidentally revealed a special 40th birthday gift for Brad from Aniston. The gift was so extravagant that even the chef thought it was a prank, but Jennifer Aniston actually pulled it off, leaving him completely stunned
The celebrity chef, 49, opened up about the pair’s history and how they connected while chatting exclusively with Parade amid the 10th anniversary season premiere of Netflix’s Chef’s Table: Legends at a private luncheon at Thomas Keller’s Ad Hoc & French Laundry establishments in Napa Valley, Calif., on Thursday, May 1. In one of the new episodes, Oliver casually showed off a handwritten note from Aniston, 56, when she was married to now ex-husband Brad Pitt.
“I was Brad’s 40th birthday present from Jen, and that’s the first time I met her,” he begins. “She actually called the restaurant a couple of times, and I think we thought it was like a hoax, so I think the phone was put down a few times. But we got in contact. I don’t do private hires for special people. I just never have, but I do do things for people that I love and admire, and I love and admire both of them.”
He continues: “So, I came over and did his dinner party for his 40th, back in the day, and I’ve stayed in touch with Jen. She is as good and as gorgeous and wonderful and more than you would expect.”
Aniston’s note wasn’t the only thing that made a special appearance in Oliver’s episode. His wife Juliette Norton was also featured, and Oliver couldn’t help but sing her praises while revealing some of her favorite dishes he makes for her.
“She really loves, like, beautiful roasted meats, gorgeous vegetables, little sauces and salsas and things to go with it,” he says, adding that she’s also up for “the more adventurous stuff, like curries and sort of interesting lightly spiced dishes from different countries that I do.”
He explains: “She’s a good eater. She’s a great customer. She’s pretty open.”
Season 10 of Chef’s Table: Legends is now available to stream on Netflix.
