Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick once faced a major financial setback due to a poor investment choice. Despite the loss, they’ve since bounced back—and their bond remains unshakable. Today, they’ve chosen to live a peaceful, grounded life on their farm.

Even though they’re both Hollywood veterans, the couple has embraced a slower pace, far from the spotlight. Their Connecticut farm is home to a variety of animals, but that lifestyle has come with its own sacrifices—especially for Kevin.
In a 2023 interview, the Leave the World Behind star shared that he’s stopped eating goat and pork—because those animals now live right alongside him. “I no longer eat goat and I no longer eat pig,” he said. “I have goats and I have pigs.”
His wife, Kyra, joked: “We can’t get any more animals, because you’re going to stop eating everything.”
Along with their four goats and two pigs, they also care for three alpacas and three miniature horses. Kevin admits that their animal family has grown simply because he loves being around them. “They’re calming. They bring me joy. And we love harvesting from our garden—fresh herbs, tomatoes, zucchini, all of it.”

He added that there’s something powerful about eating food grown by nature’s own forces—sun, water, earth. “It’s a reminder of how important it is to protect this boat we’re all in.”
Kevin’s love for food and cooking dates back to his early years as a struggling actor in NYC. He recalled throwing together meals with whatever was available—often egg, onion, and leftover pasta. He cooked and ate straight from the pan to avoid dirtying extra dishes.

Though things have changed, he still values cooking at home over fancy meals out. “When you’re always eating out or ordering in, you give your power away to someone else. I want control over what I put in my body.”
He also revealed that nowadays, he even cleans up while he cooks—a task Kyra happily leaves to him.
The couple also formed musical bonds with their animals. Their goats even appear in lighthearted TikTok videos of Kevin playing guitar. During the pandemic, the couple leaned into fun performances, creating pun-filled content like “You Can Goat Your Own Way.”
Two of the goats, Macon and Louis, were actually Kevin’s anniversary gift to Kyra—along with a personalized Central Park bench engraved with a loving message. “I was very touched,” she said.
While Kevin enjoys life on the farm, he still cherishes acting and is grateful to find meaningful work. He and Kyra were among those who lost money in Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme. “We had most of our savings with Madoff,” Kevin revealed. “If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.”
Still, they focused on what mattered most—their health, their family, and each other. “We rolled up our sleeves and got to work,” he said. Kyra stood by him every step of the way.
Their marriage, which has lasted over 30 years, is grounded in humor, mutual respect, and deep admiration. “We’ve always been each other’s biggest fans,” Kyra said. “And Kevin is very, very funny.”

Whether it’s a quiet walk together or dancing in their barn, the two still find joy in the little things. Kevin lovingly said, “Just walking and talking with her in the middle of the night—that’s still one of my favorite places to be.”
And while they both enjoy the simplicity of life away from Hollywood, Kevin says Kyra is never happier than when she’s directing. “She just lights up,” he shared.

Now, as empty nesters, they’re finding new rhythms and appreciating every moment—on their terms, surrounded by love, animals, music, and the land they call home.
